It's safe to say that within the Australian surfing world I gained some traction after the 2025 Usher Cup event. It turns out the world was on my side after this, as in the following May, a huge wave formed due to 'Cyclone Alfred'. There was no other option than to watch the turf at this time if you lived on the gold coast, there was flood of crowds everywhere, famous faces out surfing and endless barrels to be caught. In true Aussie fashion, everyone was there for it despite the news reports telling people to avoid the ocean due to the Cyclone.
